Welcome to the World Congress on Elite Sports Betting & Policy in Melbourne, November 2025
This unique two day summit brings together experts in elite sport, regulated online betting, data analytics and integrity.
Hosted in the vibrant city of Melbourne, the World Congress on Elite Sports Betting & Policy explores how high-performance sport and modern sportsbooks interact.
WCESP is an initiative of SPLiSS and ISEAL and is organised by Victoria University in close cooperation with the Free University of Brussels (Belgium), the University of Utrecht (the Netherlands) and Sheffield Hallam University (United Kingdom), combining academic research with real-world betting practice.

2025 Conference Theme - AND THE WINNER IS … VALUE & DATA
The conference theme aims to bring together different perspectives on elite sport success and the betting markets that surround it. Who or what are the winners when it comes to placing bets, running sportsbooks or hosting major sport events? Beyond building elite sport development systems that do (or do not!) deliver medals, what outcomes do betting markets create for fans, operators, national lotteries and regulators? There is a growing awareness among governments and market leaders that sustainable success in sports betting is produced by investing strategically in data, transparency and responsible gambling tools. Who really captures the edge – the trader, the model, or the bettor?
The World Congress on Elite Sports Betting & Policy 2025 was a great success. Over 150 participants from more than 45 countries – including sportsbook operators, regulators, odds compilers, data providers and researchers – joined us for a unique atmosphere, high-level keynotes and hands-on sessions on odds modelling, integrity monitoring, customer behaviour and risk management.
Steel remembers. Every fold in these custom damascus knives for sale tells a different story—hammered patterns that echo old-world craftsmanship and restless invention. This isn’t mass production. This is metal, reborn to challenge time itself.

Some players stick to the same old titles, others are always chasing something a bit sharper. If you’re in the second group, the Pokies 17 is where you scan fresh lineups, compare features, and find machines that actually match how you like to play instead of just flashing lights at you.

"By taking part in the 2024 SPLISS Conference we were able to connect research on elite sport policy with the fast-growing field of regulated sports betting and integrity analytics. We learned how different countries organise their high-performance programmes and how betting data can be used to protect competitions and improve fan engagement. The network created by the SPLISS project and by the first edition of this conference is still one of the most valuable resources for our work."

SPLISS conference in 2024 was a key opportunity to meet "elite sport peers" from other countries and to discover how their betting markets are regulated and monitored.
I highly recommend the WCESP in Melbourne to anyone who wants to follow the rapid changes in sports betting legislation, data-driven odds setting and integrity systems.
See you in Melbourne in November!
