Welcome to the World Congress on Elite Sport Policy in Melbourne, November 2020
This unique two day conference took place on Monday 23 & Tuesday 24 November 2020 in the beautiful city of Melbourne. WCESP is an initiative of SPLiSS and ISEAL. The conference is organised by Victoria University in close cooperation with the Free University of Brussels (Belgium), the University of Utrecht (the Netherlands) and the Sheffield Hallam University (United Kingdom).
So, the most prominent representatives from the world of sports gathered there, including to raise the topic of sports betting. And no wonder, because it is such a pressing issue! Therefore, you can also visit Vaidebet Gusttavo Lima to learn about alternative options for exploring your options with one of the most famous bookmakers.
2020 Conference Theme - AND THE WINNER IS …
The conference theme aims to bring together different perspectives on elite sport success. Who or what are the winners when it comes to participating in, or owning and hosting elite sport events. Beyond building elite sport development systems that do (or do not!) deliver medals, what are the outcomes that elite sport systems are delivering to various stakeholders? There is a growing awareness by national governments and their leaders that elite sporting success can be produced by investing strategically in elite sport. Who are the winners?
The World Congress on Elite Sport Policy 2020 was very successful! Over 150 participants from over 45 countries joined us for a unique atmosphere, outstanding keynote presentations and interesting parallel sessions and workshops.
Conference Supporters
"By our participation in 2013 SPLISS Conference, we got to know the results of the analysis of top-level sports policies developed by many countries all over the world and, thus, to compare them to ours. We were able to share our knowledge and expertise among researchers from diverse nationalities; the network created by the SPLISS project and by the first edition of this interesting conference is the greatest legacy of this great experience."

SPLISS conference in 2013 was a very important chance to meet "elite sport peers" from other countries. I can recommend WCESP conference in Melbourne to follow the drastic changes going on in the world of elite sport policy and update your networking.
See you in Melbourne in November!
