Mr Jasper Truyens

 

Biography

Jasper Truyens works as an doctoral researcher at the Department of Sports Policy and Management (Faculty of Physical Education and Physiotherapy) of the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB).

He graduated in 2006 as Master in Sociology and earned a postgraduate diploma in sports management (2007). As a PhD-student, he published on the competitive position of NGBs in elite athletics policies in the International Journal of Sport Policy (2014) and Politics and Sport Management Review (2025). His research primarily focuses on elite sport and the competitive advantage of countries, but also has special interest in CSR activities in football. Furthermore, he teaches sociology of sport and assists various sport management courses.
