Biography

Margot is an experienced sports administrator who has held board directorships at the highest levels. She is presently Chairman of Vicsport and is on the boards of Vichealth and the Olympians Club of Victoria and is President of the Melbourne University Sports Association.

 

Margot is a lawyer by profession and has as one of her interests good governance in all the organisations with which she works to ensure they can be the best they can be.  She is a former elite athlete winning medals in rowing at the Olympic Games in 1984 and Commonwealth Games in 1986.  In 2025 she became a Member of the Order of Australia for her service to sport through governance and administration, as an elite athlete and support for women’s sport the last of which she describes as being a never ending work in progress.
